A Final Sweet Day in the Trossachs

Pauline and Brenda hosted Troy and I for one more day. Brenda and I went for a two-hour cruise on beautiful Loch Katrine. The steamship’s oil burners now burn only biofuel, to protect the lake. Here is her lovely sound as she changes directions at the Captain’s belled commands.

On the drive back to Pauline’s, Brenda took me sightseeing on a forest road that took us past three more lochs. I caught this view.

An old Church of Scotland on the shore of Loch Achray, with Ben A’an overlooking.

Back at Pauline’s, we had a wonderful dinner, including apple crisp made from apples from a tree on Pauline’s acreage. But the highlight was my first Haggis. I liked it! Of course, I like liver, and I guess most people don’t. The traditional sides are mashed potatoes, known as tatties, and mashed yellow turnips, known as neeps. Take my word for it: It was good!
