In 1987/88, I lived in San Diego one block off the jet landing flight path. It wasnt bad, and I quickly became fascinated by an ethereal transient sound that came after the jets had gone by. I wanted to record it, but didnt have the equipment. Every time I have visited, Ive gone to listen to the wonderful sound of wing vortex winds reaching the ground after the plane passes. This time we had our recording gear. We spent four nights one block from my old apartment, trying to capture the sound. Traffic, people, dogs, and fickle winds all effected the recordings, so I suspect I will go back again and again, trying to catch the sound perfectly on a quiet night. Listen through headphones if you have them. |

On Halloween, I took Troy to Coronado Dog Beach where in the tradition of my first dog, Reilly, he showed himself to be a wonderful beach dog . Hes made me so proud of him on this trip. Flights, and trains, buses, and the underground, cows, sheep, goats, tent-camping, pub-eating, non-stop change, new experiences, hundreds of people, photos, and patience while I recorded. He gets the last photo, my beautiful boy on the sparkling beach. |

I will remember and cherish you for the rest of my life. Sharing this became as important as the doing of it. Always, Id love to hear from you. The End |
